What finance teams noticed after the review

Comments from controllers and AP leads who brought us claim packets, not pitch decks.

“They caught duplicate taxi claims we had missed for two quarters. The findings sheet was blunt enough that our managers stopped arguing about gray areas.”
Mei-Ling Chen · Finance Controller · electronics manufacturer, Hsinchu
“The sampling sprint before our internal audit visit was tight on time. We only wished we had sent the entertainment stratum earlier — a few packets arrived late and sat outside the sample.”
James Park · AP Supervisor · logistics group, Taoyuan
“Sofia’s coaching session used our own anonymized dinner claims. Two managers told me afterward they finally understood why guest lists matter.”
Yu-Hsuan Tsai · HR & Admin lead · medical device firm, Taipei
“Policy gap review flagged a contradiction between our English travel limit and the Chinese appendix. Fixing that one page cut dispute emails more than any reminder memo.”
Daniel Ong · Group Finance · precision tooling company, Zhubei

Case note: trade-show travel spike

A Hsinchu manufacturer returned from three overseas shows with 340 travel claims in six weeks. We ran a stratified sample heavy on hotels and entertainment, then a targeted duplicate scan on taxi amounts. Twenty-two exceptions went back to cost-center owners with clause references; fourteen were corrected before the next close. The controller kept the findings pack for the board appendix.

Case note: post-merger policy clash

After acquiring a Taipei sales office, a client held two entertainment policies with different receipt thresholds. Our gap review mapped every recurring exception to the conflicting clauses and proposed unified wording. Manager coaching followed two weeks later using packets from both legacy entities so approvals felt consistent on day one of the merged rule set.
